Postby AGOSTINHO » Tue Feb 09, 2016 9:15 am

Dear Forum,
I just connected my AD2USB to my VISTA 20p alarm panel system and I get the green light blinking constantly, as I see on the manuals that this green light has to be steady green light(NOT BLINKING)
Thanks

Actually, it is supposed to blink at a steady rate. This behavior is normal. If you are having issues connecting to the AD2USB, please detail your setup and I can help troubleshoot!

Dear Kevin thank you very much for your assistance, I've not yet connected to the PC, I just connected the AD2USB to the HONEYWELL VISTA P20 have not made any adjustments on the keypad but since the manuals says that this green light has to be steady not blinking then I think somethings went wrong, but if you say that this is a normal behavior than I'll proceed with the installation to the PC, I will let you know if there will be any other issue, once again thank you very much for your support.

Please let us know where you saw the reference stating the led needed to be on and not blinking so we can correct it.

Dear Sean M. see this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1oNDp-Sx8c at 6.11 where it says "now that the green light indicator flashes within 20 seconds" than you see that the green light gets steady green (NOT BLINKING ANYMORE)

The video never says that the light should remain solid - the video transitions into a still frame of the AD2USB with the light lit up. The light should be blinking at a steady rate.

Dear Kevin/Sean,
I've installed the software on my PC Windows 7 it seems install OK, I have the virtual key-pad on my desktop the only communication i have with my alarm panel is that it displays "ARMED STAY" when it is armed and "DISARMED Ready To Arm" when it is disarmed. there is no reaction from the pc-keypad when click on the number on the pc-keypad I can see the log-file with all the transactions and that it there is nothing else I can do on this pc-keypas.
Please let me know what I'm I missing to get this pc-keypad working so I can mange/program my alarm system form my computer.
Thanks

Did you enable a keypad address on your panel via programming mode? Did you then set the AD2USB to this address that you enabled in the panel?

Re: How to assign a keypad address to the AD2USB

Postby AGOSTINHO » Tue Mar 01, 2016 8:52 pm

Dear forum how to add the AD2USB to a Vista 20p Honey well alarm system.
I know how to assign a regular 6160 ADEMCO keypad address to the system because I use the new keypad to program the new address.
But now how do I program the AD2USB to the alarm system.
In my case the address 18 is already used/assign to a existing keypad that's in use, do I have to remove this keypad from address 18 to be able to program the AS2USB to this 18 address or can I assign any other number address to the AD@USB?
Thanks
