Light Automation on Alarm

Postby ToXIc » Thu May 04, 2017 2:09 pm

Hi Scott and Kevin, thanks for the latest Smartthings WebApp its great.

I would like to create an automation to turn on all my lights in and outside of my home if the Alarm is triggered to help scare the intruder/s.
How exactly can i accomplish this? I just dont know what/which device/s to use as a trigger to turn the lights on.

Trigger off virtual zone sensor is probably the most applicable.

No, but I believe SmartThings has documentation for creating scenes based off sensor state - as far as our sensors go, in the sensor configuration, just put the zone number in.

All events are generated from the alarm panel. The webapp is what tells smart things what's going on. The purpose of the AD2PI is to handle the alarm events and use the software to provide an interface.

Most times zones are labelled what number they are in the panel. If you don't know what number they are, the best way to find out is to trip them, yes.

so just tried and the webapp just showed which zone triggered the alarm and not the zone of the alarm itself going off.
