AD2PI cannot receive from Honeywell 4110xm

Postby fdeliege » Wed Oct 21, 2015 3:12 pm

Hi,

I just received a AD2PI that I hooked up to an Arduino and a 4110xm panel.
I have the Arduino connected to the AD2PI and forwarding requests and responses to it.

The Arduino can send and receive successfully to the AD2PI.
I can get the configuration set up and request for version numbers etc.

I have configured the AD2PI Address to 31 and I am able to send commands to the alarms (ARM, STAY, DISARM are working).

However, I am unable to read anything back from the Panel.
I have double checked the connectivity with the panel.
Any idea of what's going on? Is this panel supported?

See below the configuration:

setup...
cmd =
Sending AD2Pi raw ASCII:V

!VER:
ffffffff,V2.2a.6,TX;RX;SM;VZ;RF;ZX;RE;AU;3X;CG;DD;MF;LR;KE;MK;C
cmd =
Sending AD2Pi raw ASCII:C

!>!CONFIG>ADD
RESS=31&CONFIGBITS=
ff0a&LRR=N&EXP=NNNNN&REL=NNNN&MASK=ffffffff&DEDUPLICATE=N

For panels that don't support ALPHA messages, you won't get status information, just the ability to control. This panel is not in our official list of supported panels here http://www.alarmdecoder.com/wiki/index. ... ted_Panels so your miles may vary with what is supported. If you would like to return it, please email ad2usb@support.nutech.com and ask for an RMA Return with a small explanation as to why

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your quick reply and for offering a refund.
I am going to opposite route and just ordered a Vista 20p. ;)

Just curious about the AD2PI. I don't get anything at all. I would have imagined that I could collect garbage. The panel must surely send some signal back to the keypads since I do see status changes on them.

It does yes. It sends a very simple NON ALPHA message just a 2 digit numeric and other alarm status. I have mentioned to many that it would not be hard to support this panel although it will never fully support ALPHA it could at least allow getting alarm status messages and just 2 digit numbers back.

I have asked for anyone who has this panel and retires it to send it to me and I will add support but so far they are so few around no one has done so yet.

It would likely not be a high priority project as I only see a few of this panel per year but if its not to much of a change it would be worth looking at.

Hi Sean,

I'd be happy to send you a working 4110xm once I am done replacing it.

Thank you,

Francois

Hello! I just recently purchased and installed the AD2PI onto my Ademco 4101XM. I too am experiencing an issue where I'm able to send data, but not receive. Has there been any update to this issue?

Thanks,
Bob

The issue is that the panel does not send alpha data, so there is no message stream to read. There has not been any custom firmware to emulate alpha messages for this panel as we have not got one in our lab.

Until we get one in our lab, this is unfortunately the state of things with this particular panel. If this is a problem, the only recourse is a refund, a panel replacement, or getting us a copy of this panel to add support to the firmware for.
