AD2PI on PI B+ WiFi connected to DSC PC1864 problems

Postby led555 » Thu Dec 04, 2014 5:47 pm

setup: AD2PI on PI B+ (using the supplied image) WiFi enabled, connected to DSC PC1864 via keybus. Steady heartbeat on AD2PI.

Receive and send tests time out on setup page. AD2PI heartbeat stops during these tests... should it?

What's more concerning is that the Raspberry Pi seems to brown-out after 15 minutes of running the AD2PI. The system then comes back but intermittently reboots and continues this cycle indefinitely. With the AD2PI disconnected, raspberry Pi runs for days.

Could the AD2PI be causing the Pi B+ to reboot?

How can I help debug the DSC PC1864 connection issue?

Thank you.

First confirm you have the Beta firmware. As for the power with the Pi I suspect a ground fault.

Tell me how you are connecting electrically to the panel and the Pi.

If you disconnect the 4 wires from the alarm bus using an volt meter measure the voltage between the Ground terminal block on the Ad2Pi and the ground terminal block on the alarm panel. It "should" be 0 if you have the same ground potential. If not we need to fix that and find out what is floating.

Just an update. I moved to a new house and got my alarm re-setup (DSC PC1864). I uploaded the newest firmware for the AD2PI and selected the DSC option under setup. I'm using it over WiFi. Everything is working beautifully. All the info that was needed I found on your forum. Great job and thank you!
