I'm having a problem connecting my Vera3 to Ad2USB :

I followed the instructions here for UI5
http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_vista-alarm-panel-ad2usb

then i setup the serial port config from here
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=122

after many reboots : still no go !! turned on error messaging and got the following error

LuaInterface::CallFunction_Job device 4 function SAlarmPartition2_AlarmPartition2_RequestQuickArmMode_run failed [string "-- Required Libraries..."]:268: attempt to concatenate local 'armMode' (a nil value) <0x2c60d680>

I'm using a vera 3 with 1.5.622, ad2usb and a Vista 20P panel with 2 keypads. also, I only have 1 partition, howcome its looking for Partition 2 ?

Any help is appreciated.

thank you so much.

Unfortunately, as we just got a Vera, we are not up to speed fully on the driver yet. You could try posting on the official driver forum for the Vera on their forum at http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/board,46.0.html - we are not the developers of the Vera driver, just the alarmdecoder products itself - while we are working to get up to speed so we can help in this type of situation, we are not quite yet prepared.

Thank you so much. Is there another alternative to control via my android without using some kind of a server ? or do i need a server ? (like a pi ? ). If so then I will go with ur approach rather than Vera .. Vera is good but the plugin is not for the non-techie like myself. Too much setup.

I see alot of chatter about ser2sock : does it work with just the ad2usb ? I guess not right ?

Also, do you have a Vera Plugin/software to interface the ad2usb ?

thanks again .. love the quick responses. This is what makes me come back and buy more stuff from you guys.

You can get a Raspberry Pi and load our Beta image to it - this will give you a web application that you can control from most mobile devices - all you would have to do is open a port in your router to access it from outside your network - and know your outside IP address.

Our Pi image works with any of our devices, including the AD2USB. You can find out more about it here, as well as download it: http://www.alarmdecoder.com/wiki/index.php/Raspberry_Pi

We do not have anything to do with the Vera plugin - actually, we just obtained one ourselves so we could help people troubleshoot issues and/or improve the plugin - but like I said, we just got it, so we haven't had a chance to jump into that rabbit hole yet.
