Unable to send keypad commands with ad2usb

Postby Arador » Sun Sep 14, 2014 4:09 pm

I have installed a new security system in our house and I am unable to send any keyboard commands via the virtual keyboard. I have double checked everything and I am able to read the physical panels and system logging and I am able to send special commands on the log tab, but it just gives me ad2usb setup. I have the download module add on installed and I am able to start it if I manually put one of the physical keypads in programmer mode, but it isn't downloading any information from the panel.

I know there is something simple I am missing, but I have been working on this for hours and have not been able to resolve the issue.

What kind of panel do you have? A 20p? Did you enable a keypad address on the panel for the AD2USB? Did you configure the AD2USB to use the address you added to the panel via programming mode?

I thought I had, but I just checked and it wasn't enabled. Thank you, I can now use the virtual connection.

This answer, though I had to scroll through the posts to find it, was a great help to me. Thanks, Kevin.

After about five tries I finally got the physical keypad to enable panel 18.

This process is described in our installation videos under "Getting Started" in Documentation.
