We sell a DC Power adapter that powers from the panel from the battery (added benefit of battery backup when power outage). It comes with a 3 foot cable + power adapter by default unless you order the DC adapter. The "cable" is replaceable, just a micro-usb cable, so if you need more length then that is an option.

Thanks, I just ordered it. Wish I had understood this beforehand so I could have ordered it all at once. Oh well, just a few more days of waiting

In the meantime, the appliance came today. I have it configured (on wifi) and will wire it up when the DC adapter arrives.

Yep, not faulting you. The only thing that didn't click in my head was DC Power = Alarm board power. My brain was thinking wall wart = AC->DC converter so DC power = wall wart. I'm not living in the hardware hacking / electronics world so I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

Anyway, looking forward to implementing this and thanks again for your responsiveness.

Just a quick follow-up. I have everything working. I added extra zones in the code to handle my actual system. When uninstalling and reinstalling the service manager to initialize the new zones, I had problems rediscovering the alarm decoder device in SmartThings. I rebooted the device but it didn't help. I finally read through the docs to manually install the web app and saw the instructions to restart nginx and gunicorn. I did that and it kicked back in. Here are the logs from the web app just in case they can help you out. It looks like there were errors upon boot that weren't there after the service restart.
