Vista-20BAY Keypad configuration

Postby m14t » Wed Oct 04, 2017 10:54 pm

Hello! I just got a AD2PI Network Appliance in the mail today and I am excited to set it up, but having an issue enabling the keypad.

I enter programing mode (Installer code + 8 + 0 + 0), but when I hit # + 1, the 1 does not show up on the screen. If I continue with 9 + 1 it displays "Options", much like you would expect if you had only hit #91.

Is there a trick to entering a 3 digit code?

When I go to https://alarmdecoder.local/setup/test, I see:
Code: Select all
Keypad communication (Send)   ✘ Check wiring and that the correct keypad address is being used.
Keypad communication (Receive)   ⚠ Test timed out.

I suspect this is due to not yet having enabled Keypad #18.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

My suggestion is to get the programming manual for your panel and see what the fields are - we provide an example, but it is not the same for every panel

Excellent Advice.

Referring to this manual (page 17), I was able to find a line that said:
If you are going to use a 4285 Voice Module, you MUST use addressable keypads (4137AD, 5137AD, 6128, 6137, 6138, 6139) in the system, but set to the non-addressable mode (address 31)

I don't have a Voice module and so I wasn't sure if this applied to me or not, but I gave it a shot and put the AD2PI on address 31 and it works like a charm!

If this product is as good as your customer service has been, I'm sure it will also far exceed my expectations.

Thank you!

31 sounds right - unfortunately we can't have every panel in our lab so sometimes I have to tell people to do a little digging - glad you found it and it's working out!
