RPI Locking up

Postby code4code5 » Thu Mar 02, 2017 8:36 pm

I'm using AD2USB to connect my Vista20 to a Raspberry Pi B2, which is using the AlarmDecoder Raspbian OS. I'm having an issue where at some point during the day, the Pi is becoming completely unresponsive to the point that I can't access the HTML, Telnet, SSH, or login locally.

I do have a few Prowl notifications set and I'm wondering if that might have something to do with it. Because I have to kill the power to reset the Pi, I haven't seen anything in the web app log.

Where is the log stored and does it persist between boots?

Any other ideas as to what the issue might be?

Thanks in advance!

First time I've heard of lockup issues with our image - I would point toward some sort of hardware problem with the pi (maybe too low of power?) or some other hardware issue. Maybe it has something to do with configuration as well. I know those B2's have quite a bit inferior CPU to the Pi3, so maybe your CPU and memory utilization is very high and causing issues. This can be alleviated with the AD2USB by using ser2sock (share device on network).

The logs are stored and persist after reboot

/opt/alarmdecoder-webapp/instance/logs/
/var/log/nginx/

Thank you very much. Funny, since I posted here I haven't had it lock up on me. Two days so far.
