New AlarmDecoder Keypad Mac app install won't run

Hi -

I just connected a new AD2USB to my panel (Vista 21IP) and my Mac, verified that I have a blinking green light and see it in my USB device list, and installed the Mac version of the AlarmDecoder Keypad app. The first time I tried to run the keypad app, it told me I had to install Mono (even though the Wiki says it's included in the Mac install PKG). So I went ahead and installed Mono. Now when I attempt to launch the keypad app it immediately dies, and I see this LaunchServices error message in the console.

Any suggestions? I'm running High Sierra 10.13.2.

Thanks,
Mike

it appears your Mac distribution doesn't work on a clean install anymore. Mono and GTK# aren't included in your distribution, (even though the Wiki says they are). Even if you install Mono from mono-project.com, some of the GTK# libraries you require aren't included, such as libgnome.so.

I'll have to give it a try on Windows.

Found the problem. The link on your website for the Mac OSX AlarmDecoder Keypad app points to the app itself, not an installer. The app references external libraries that I don't already have, so it fails.

Apparently there is a Mac OSX installer for the Keypad app, and the link on the website is supposed to be pointed to the installer rather than the app itself. This is an old installer though, and it requires Java 6, so I didn't try it.

The current Mono framework doesn't include all of the libraries that the Keypad app requires, so it is necessary to install an older version. I installed the Mono framework 3.2.4, and now the app works. :)
