How long should firmware update take?

I have a recently purchased ad2usb connected to an Ubuntu box and a Vista 20P. I can see messages just fine from the panel but not send any commands. I've checked the keypad address in the panel and it seems fine. My next step is to update the firmware on the ad2usb (which was 2.2a8.2) to the latest version. I ran:

Code: Select all
tnt: ad2-firmwareupload ademcoemu_V2_2a_8_6.hex /dev/ttyUSB0 115200
Flashing device: /dev/ttyUSB0 - 115200 baud
Firmware: ademcoemu_V2_2a_8_6.hex
Rebooting device..
Waiting for boot loader..
Uploading firmware..........

And it's been sitting there at the same location for 15 minutes. I'm guessing something went wrong. Should I wait? Kill it? Disconnect it and try again?

Thanks, TD

Never mind - I had a ser2sock process running that I wasn't aware of. I killed that, killed the updater, and re-ran it and it worked fine.

I still can't seem to send anything to the panel - I guess I'll start double checking all of my keypad addresses.

Yes, 9 times out of 10 it is because of keypad address conflict or bad wiring - if that doesn't solve it email support - ad2usb@support.nutech.com and we can troubleshoot/RMA if necessary.

Yup - operator error. I had another keypad that was misconfigured to the wrong address. Everything is working great now.
