Panel Issue

Postby timstew75 » Fri Jul 21, 2017 12:43 pm

I can't seem to get communication with my panel. I am using the AD2PI device and have panel 15p. I have made sure the keypad addresses are enabled on the system and have changed an existing keypad from address 17 to 20 and it works fine. If I change the AD2PI to use address 17 where the previous keypad was it still can't communicate and times out. Weird issue is if I do try address 31 I get a success on send but a time out on receive. My current keypads are programmed on addresses 18 and 20. Address 17 is enabled but the AD2PI cannot communicate on it. The wiring is correct. Any ideas?

Please post your device configuration and version information (C command and V command) as well as some raw device logs of trying to communicate with your panel

Also verify wiring by using existing keypad on new wiring

!CONFIG>MODE=A&CONFIGBITS=ff00&ADDRESS=17&LRR=N&COM=N&EXP=NNNNN&REL=NNNN&MASK=ffffffff&DEDUPLICATE=Y
!Reading configuration.
!UART init.
V
!VER:ffffffff,V2.2a.8.2,TX;RX;SM;VZ;RF;ZX;RE;AU;3X;CG;DD;MF;LR;KE;MK;CB;DS;ER

What is the best method to get the logs?

I verified a physical keypad works with the wiring.

Please disable deduplicate messages and see if that helps

Are you using the pi with a raspberry pi and our image? If so, telnet to port 10000, otherwise attach to the serial port with your favorite com utility such as screen

Also there is newer firmware available, please update

I am using your network bundle. I upgraded the firmware and disabled deduplicate and get same results. Pasted below

!>Emulate Long Range Radio Y/N: (N) :>n
n
!>Emulate modem COM Y/N: (N) :>n
n
!>Address Filter Mask (ffffffff) :>

!>Deduplicate (N) :>n
n
!>Config Bits (ff00) :>

!Reading configuration.
!UART init.

!Sending.....done
V
!VER:ffffffff,V2.2a.8.6,TX;RX;SM;VZ;RF;ZX;RE;AU;3X;CG;DD;MF;L2;KE;MK;CB;DS;ER;CR
C
!>
!CONFIG>MODE=A&CONFIGBITS=ff00&ADDRESS=17&LRR=N&COM=N&EXP=NNNNN&REL=NNNN&MASK=ffffffff&DEDUPLICATE=N
!Reading configuration.
!UART init.

Are you 100% sure it's an addressable panel? A 15p? This seems very strange that you're not seeing a message every 10s from the panel with panel status. Wiring you verified with another keypad so that doesn't seem suspect unless you have them plugged in incorrectly on the ad2pi itself (make sure all wires are connected including power and ground as well).

IF you continue to not see messages, you can download a beta firmware and enable diagnostic mode

If you would, upload a beta firmware and enter diagnostic mode by issuing a "@48"

Once in diagnostic mode, try to arm and disarm your alarm

Then enter "@00" to exit diagnostic mode

Email a log of this to ad2usb@support.nutech.com so we can look at it privately with you

Thanks,
Kevin

I uploaded the beta firmware and enabled debugging with same result and see nothing with debug enabled. I have attached pictures of my panel. Like I said earlier I can give the AD2PI a 31 address and it can send but not receive. But using anything other address including one a physical panel was using and I get nothing.

Issue resolved. I was using the color code from the DSC diagram which is different from the Honeywell. Thank you for the excellent support. The device is working perfectly and integrated with Smartthings with no issues.

Yeah sorry for any confusion, it should wire just like an existing keypad
