AD2PI not expanding on faults

Hey all, trying to setup an AD2PI appliance with an Ademco Vista 10SE. I have it configured and talking to the panel, and I can send commands through the web app just fine and all that.
But when I telnet into 10000 to watch the ser2sock messages and start triggering faults, I never see the actual fault messages, I just see a message about hitting "* to see faults".
Am I missing a step somewhere? Do I need to configure zones somewhere? The area in the webapp for that seems to be for naming zones, but the fact that I'm not getting the messages about zone faults in ser2sock seems to not be normal from what I'm reading...

Hi,
It is normal for a 'press * to see faults' message. The alarmdecoder should be automatically sending the * when necessary and keeping zone state for notifications.

Got ya. But that is ALL I'm seeing. That is, no notifications are sent, none of the messages that I've seen in my searching that I should expect, etc., just that message.

Just to verify, did you press * and did it report a list of faulted zones?

Well, maybe I should have mentioned this, but my battery was dead... didn't think that would affect this, but after replacing it this afternoon, I am now getting zone faults correctly... or else it just magically fixed itself.
Is there something about a low battery notification that would stop zone faults from coming through?

Strange!
After some discussion here in the office we're thinking it's probably some SE panel quirk. Normally you'd see a low battery message just like anything else. I'm glad you figured it out, because that definitely would not have been my first guess. =)

Dumb luck really. But happy that I've added to the possible known issues list / information for anyone else who hits it. Was wondering why I wasn't finding ANYONE else with that issue. Probably because everyone else is smart enough to not be running with a dead / disconnected battery. Cheers!

I'm seeing this same issue. I don't have a low battery status, but I've discovered that I can resolve it by going to the virtual console on one of my graphical panels and sending a *. After that faults begin coming in through Alarmdecoder.
What's odd is that I can press "Display Faults" on the graphical display and get a list prior to doing this little "fix", so they're definitely going out over the wire.
EDIT: I've resolved this. Turns out I did not have a good connection on the DI terminal.

Hi,
I have been using the AD2USB with a Raspberry Pi that I had to connect to SmartThings and it has been working great. My dad loved it so much, he had me replaced his existing panel and keypads with new stock Vista 20p and 6106RF keypads. He is also using the AD2USB and Raspberry Pi. When we open a door on his system, he is only getting " DISARMED CHIME Hit * for faults" in the AlarmDecocer GUI app logs, but not the faulted zone. See logs below.
I tried searching for any setting on the AD2USB or the panel itself, but couldn't find anything.
Three Questions:
1 - Does mine look correct, or should there be different or additional messages?
2 - Is there a setting on the Alarm Decoder or the Vista 20p panel that controls whether to show the faulted zone without requiring * being pressed, or automatically fire a * if it sees "Hit * for faults"?
3 - Is the alarm panel or the AD2USB defective?
Mine that is working:
